Pre-Lim Task 12/11/2014

Todays lesson we were split up into our groups in which we are expected to complete a 30 second short film called a preliminary task. First of  me and my group began to brainstorm some potential ideas which we could flesh out into our final idea.
After we all agreed on a 'drug deal gone wrong' situation we began to decide who would play who. We decided I would play the role of the undercover cop and Daniel Bates would play the drug addict who eventually gets shot and killed by the undercover cop. We then decided that the final member of our group, Ellie Kirk, will be the main director as she is camera shy. Next we began to storyboard. This helped us visualise each scene and ultimatley reduced the time it would take outdoors planning each shot as we go. Therefore storyboarding is a crucial process for anyone looking to make either a feature length film or a short 2 minute film like ours. Todays lesson has been very insightful and I am much looking forward to progessing with our film.
